RAHA JAVANFAR
Lighting Designer
Raha Javanfar is a performer, designer, and educator. A violinist, bass player, singer, and songwriter, Raha leads Bad Luck Woman & Her Misfortunes (blues/R&B), and the Double Cuts (Western swing). She also plays violin in ZUZE (Afro funk Iranian folk), and has played on records by Tom Wilson, Daniel Romano, and Protest the Hero, to name a few. She has performed on numerous festival stages and venues across the country, as well as in productions by Soulpepper Theatre, for whom she has also worked as a lighting designer. Raha has toured internationally as projections designer with Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. She was first runner up of the Toronto Blues Society Talent Search, nominated for a Maple Blues Award, and winner of the 2013 Siminovitch Protege Award for lighting design.
